 Accomplishments as Deans of SAAT ? Coordinated teaching and research activities in the Departments in the school. ? The curricula for different courses were reviewed and strategic plan for the school was developed. ? Budgets were prepared for the school on regular basis while laboratory equipment were procured and installed. ? Students results were computed as and at when due and presented for senate approval. ? Linkage programmes were also developed national and international organizations. ? Successfully organized the school’s endowment fund. The sum of N2,859,500.00 was realized. ? Increased internally generated revenue (IGR) in the School through improved farm activities and Journal publication. ? Introduced the packaging and commercial sales of agric products E.g. (FUTA GARI and FUTA Palm Oil) ? Attracted research grant worth 69,000 Euro to the School by the French Government (through CIRAD) for a project on Cocoa Rehabilitation techniques. This was done by organizing a research team that developed multidisciplinary proposal. ? More than US$550,000.00 grants were attracted to the School. These were done by facilitating the award of research grants, travel grants, scholarship and fellowships to some members of staff in the School by the following organisations: International Foundation for Science (IFS) Sweden; Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) London; Deutscher A. Kedermischer Austauschdienst (DAAD); ICRAF Kenya; USAID and African Academy of Science (AAS), MARSHAV, Israel. ? Raised Academic Standard of the School • Restructured Departmental curriculum to conform with NUC standard. • Received NUC approval for establishment of Food Science and Technology as a full fledged Department. • The School was ranked as the third best faculty of Agriculture in Nigeria in 2004. • All the six Departments in the School (AEE, APH, CSP, FST, FWL and FWT) were granted FULL ACCREDITATION STATUS by NUC. • Established linkages between the School and the following institutions: (i) Technische Universitat Muchen, Germany (ii) Centre de Coopration internationale en Recherche Agronomique pour le Development (CIRAD) Paris, France. • Established a standard school library, 2003. • Organized the First Annual School Conference in 2005. • Organized the First Annual School Lecture delivered by Prof. Israel Adu, VC. University of Agriculture Abeokuta. May 2005.
